Journal of Research on Elementary Education

Submission Guidelines

一、Journal of Research on Elementary Education is a professional publication that provides opportunities for academic scholars to share their research reports, findings, explorations and ideas.

二、Journal of Research on Elementary Education is published twice a year (i.e. at the end of October and April). The deadlines for each publication are at the last week of June and the last week of December. The topics in this journal include: Counseling and Psychology in Elementary Education; Curriculum and Instruction; Educational Administration; Educational Philosophy; Teacher Education; Teacher Professional Development and other related topics.

Format

 

A. Manuscripts should be written in English, with a limitation to 500 words for the abstract.

 

B. In the manuscripts, please include: full names of all the authors, beginning with the first name, institutions of all authors, title, abstract, key words, the main texts, and a reference list.

 

C. Please type up your manuscript(s) in a computer and print it out with a printer. Follow the format below:

{C}{C}      i.          {C}Title: Times New Roman, 16 pts; capitalize the initial of each word, except for propositions and articles.

{C}{C}    ii.          {C}Name of the Author: Times New Roman; 12pts

{C}{C}  iii.          {C}Institutions: Times New Roman; 10 pts

{C}{C}  iv.          {C}Headings and Subheadings: Times New Roman

Descriptions

Example

First layer: 14 pts; texts in white, background in gray; capitalize the initial of each word

Introduction

Second layer: 12 pts; bold and underlined; capitalize the initial of each word

Teacher Concerns

Third layer: 10 pts; capitalize the initial of the first word

Parents expectations

Fourth layer: 10 pts; number each subheading with 1, 2 , 3; capitalize the initial of the first word

Fifth layer: 10 pts; number each subheading with I, II, III; capitalize the initial of the first word

I. Grades

{C}{C}    v.          {C}Main Texts: Times New Roman; 10 pts

{C}{C}  vi.          {C}Space between Sentences: minimum space 14 pts

{C}{C}vii.          {C}Paper Size and Margins: A4 size paper; 3 cm for upper margin; 5.7 cm for lower margin; 3.6 cm for right and left margin;

 

D. Table Format:

{C}{C}      i.          {C}On the top of each table, label its numbers and title.

{C}{C}    ii.          {C}Simplify the content of each table, if possible.

{C}{C}  iii.          {C}The original data in each table should be analyzed, simplified and categorized.

{C}{C}  iv.          {C}Footnotes in tables should be labeled in English letters (i.e. a. b. c.) and placed at the right upper corner of the words that are footnoted. The content of the footnotes should be placed below the table. However, please avoid using footnotes in tables if possible.

{C}{C}    v.          {C}Limit the size of the table to 16 cm in width and 24 cm in length.

 

E. Graphic, Diagram and Figure Format:

{C}{C}      i.          {C}Limit the size of each diagram, graphic, and figure to16x24.

{C}{C}    ii.          {C}In general, graphics are printed as black-and-white in the article. The author is responsible for the expenses if requesting for color graphics or if the printing expenses exceed the annual budgets of the journal.

{C}{C}  iii.          {C}Figures and diagrams should be numbered based on the order that mentioned in the article. The author should label each figure and diagram with numbers and titles at the bottom of each figure and diagram.

{C}{C}  iv.          {C}Place all the graphics at the same page or fewer pages, if possible.

{C}{C}    v.          {C}Descriptions for figures and diagrams should be concise. However, it should be complete and understandable.

 

F. Reference List

{C}{C}      i.          {C}Please include all the literature cited in the main texts in the reference list

{C}{C}    ii.          {C}Please document all the reference in English.

{C}{C}  iii.          {C}For journal articles, please document the reference in the order ofauthor, year, title, name of the journal, volume, number and page number. For example:
Bender, D. J. & Laub, A. J. (1981). The linear-quadratic, optimal regulator for descriptor systems, IEEE Trans. Automat. Control, 32 (8), 672-687.

{C}{C}  iv.          {C}For books, please document the reference in the order ofauthor, year, name of the book, published location, publisher. For example:Snaders, M. S., & McCormic, E. J. (1987). Human Factors in Enhineerion and Design. New York McGraw-Hill.
